Blake Dawson selects LexisNexis InterAction to Harness the Power of Client Relationships

Leading Australian law firm to implement CRM solution to consolidate and track client and relationship data

LONDON, 16th February 2011 – LexisNexis UK (, a leading provider of content-enabled workflow solutions, today announced that leading Australian law firm Blake Dawson has selected LexisNexis® InterAction® as the firm’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) solution. InterAction will help Blake Dawson streamline contact and matter information stored in disparate sources to provide a truly integrated approach to contact and prospect information management.

Blake Dawson is one of Australia’s leading law firms with over 160 years experience in providing legal services to Australian and international corporations and government clients, including 80% of the top 100 companies on the ASX. LexisNexis InterAction acts as a central repository and enables firms not only to track client contact and matter data, but also helps identify and track key relationships to make the most of business development opportunities.

InterAction aggregates client profiles, matters, notes and activities, and transforms the information into actionable relationship intelligence, accessible to all. Blake Dawson has 181 partners and 500 lawyers with specialist legal skills covering more than 40 different practice areas, with many holding strong relationships with key client contacts that span many of these practice areas. InterAction helps maintain and maximise these important relationships by automatically informing the fee-earner when that client’s records or matter information is updated. This means the primary relationship holder is always aware of matter updates and is able to ensure the highest level of client service. Additionally, InterAction enables fee-earners to identify opportunities to broaden the service offered to that client to generate additional fee-income.

Lex Melzer, Head of Marketing, Blake Dawson commented: “After looking at several different options to replace our existing CRM, we found InterAction to be the best fit for our needs, offering us a single, integrated system to track and manage all client and relationship data. As all the data is centrally held and updated, time is saved across the firm, and the risk of data being entered incorrectly is greatly reduced. A real benefit for both us and our clients is the ability to identify and monitor profitable and important client relationships, as this will help improve service delivery and boost business development.”

Tim Cheadle, General Manager, LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions commented: “Technology is fast becoming an integral part of the way law firms do business. The ability to identify and then capitalise on client relationships is a clear advantage, and InterAction makes this simple. LexisNexis is committed to providing solutions that blend seamlessly into the work habits of professionals and we look forward to working with Blake Dawson to help the firm organise and maximise their knowledge base to drive productivity and profitability.”
