Private equity firms choose LexisNexis InterAction to harness the power of client relationships
LexisNexis InterAction CRM solution implemented to consolidate information and track relationship data
LONDON, 16th February 2011 – LexisNexis UK (www.lexisnexis.co.uk), a leading provider of contentenabled workflow solutions, today announced that private equity firms Silverfleet Capital and August Equity have selected LexisNexis® InterAction® as the firms’ Client Relationship Management (CRM) solution. InterAction helps firms to streamline contact and company information stored in disparate knowledge and data sources and provides a truly integrated approach to contact and prospect information management.
Relationships with deal contacts, advisors and industry experts are considered to be some of the most valuable assets that private equity firms hold. These relationships are often the source of new business referrals and ultimately the key to the firm’s long-term success. Having the right relationships that give access to key stakeholders, when and where they're needed, is critical to winning a deal. Recognising the importance of having this valuable information held in a central and secure place, August Equity and Silverfleet Capital have chosen to implement InterAction to consolidate company and contact information into one easily accessible database to share contact and deal information amongst their teams.
Silverfleet Capital is a European private equity firm specialising in mid-market buyouts and buy and build investment strategies. It has a €670 million fund to invest in businesses with an enterprise value in excess of €75 million, with a “sweet spot” of between €100m and €300m. With 25 year’s experience of backing ambitious management teams in the business & financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and retail, leisure and consumer sectors in Europe, Silverfleet Capital had a wealth of invaluable customer and deal information at its disposal. Recognising the value of having a single, integrated system to track and manage all client, deal and relationship data, Silverfleet chose to implement LexisNexis InterAction as the firm wide CRM system.
Darren Jordan, Chief Financial Officer, Silverfleet Capital commented: “Silverfleet Capital has a rich heritage spanning more than two decades, and with that comes a multitude of data, which in today’s market where relationships are more important than ever is an extremely valuable asset. InterAction has consolidated information across our offices in London, Paris, Munich and Chicago, and with just a click of a button, teams are now able to discover and leverage relationships held by the firm to land the next new deal.”
InterAction centralises the firm’s collective knowledge, wisdom and experience and relationship networks into a firm wide asset. The solution provides a single point of entry to access and share information across the firm and the seamless integration with Outlook as well as the InterAction web client enables easy, real-time access to information.
August Equity, an independent private equity firm, invests between £10 to £25 million in UK based companies through majority controlled MBO’s and finance ambitious organic growth and acquisition programmes. The deal team operates out of the UK and all IT is outsourced, making it important that the firm’s CRM solution integrates easily with other IT systems and does not require on-site support or maintenance.
Tim Clarke, Partner, August Equity said: “The private equity market has developed into a much more people focused model of late. Building relationships with investors, operators and advisers is key to our business success, and a tool which allows us to manage those relationships and record developments, ensuring the team are kept up to date, is invaluable to us.”
Tim Cheadle, General Manager, LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions commented: “Technology is fast becoming an integral part of the way private equity firms do business. The ability to identify and then capitalise on client relationships is a clear advantage and InterAction makes this a simple. LexisNexis is committed to providing solutions that blend seamlessly into the work habits of professionals, helping them to do more with less so that they can focus on growing their business. The recent LexisNexis InterAction deployment in Silverfleet Capital and August Equity are proof of how our solutions are delivering on this aim and helping private equity firms organise and use their knowledge base for business development purposes.”
