LexisNexis and Irwin Mitchell Honoured with 'Project of the Year' Award at Knowlist Awards
London, 27 January, 2010 - LexisNexis and its partnership with Irwin Mitchell was named "Project of The Year" at the KnowList Awards.
To prepare for the upcoming changes expected from the Legal Services Act, Irwin Mitchell launched an assessment process to investigate how the firm could achieve greater efficiencies and cost savings, while maintaining its position at the cutting edge of legal services.
To achieve this, the firm chose to partner with LexisNexis to develop and implement one of the most advanced and integrated information solutions found today in the UK legal industry, incorporating LexisNexis' Business Intelligence, LexisCheck, LexisLearning, LexisNexis KYC and LexisLibrary. The solution increased business efficiency across the firm's Risk/AML processes, Business Intelligence, Learning and Development, PSL and Research practices.
The KnowList Awards, voted on by the legal IT industry, are dedicated to the strategic implementation of technology within law firms, recognising the success of key individuals, law firms and suppliers who are constantly striving to add value using IT.
Jon Brewer, Strategic Development Director for LexisNexis, said: "We have a range of capabilities and experience, well beyond the product sets for which we are best known, that are increasingly being turned to by law firms who want to do something out of the ordinary. To have independent verification of the impact we have when we bring our experience to bear on helping a law firm deliver on its strategic goals is great."
Catherine Kenwright, Irwin Mitchell's Head of Department, Learning, Knowledge and Records Management, said: "Our firm is honoured to receive recognition from the KnowList Awards. We selected LexisNexis as our strategic partner because they had the most compelling solution, from which we were able to extract the most value from new and existing information sources with the added capability of integrating the overall solution into other IT systems throughout the firm."
"Irwin Mitchell now has a holistic and integrated information system, bringing maximised knowledge and business management tools to every member of the firm and delivering significant impact, in cost savings and additional revenue, while the automation of many work processes has enabled our lawyers to focus time on more profitable and beneficial practice areas and grow new business priorities that will advance the firm in this changing marketplace. We believe this solution gives us the right tools to provide better service to our clients, to know their business challenges thoroughly and develop stronger partnerships with them."
