MLex, London: UK insurers, already paying out record amounts for coronavirus (COVID-19) related cover, warned that the industry needs to learn lessons from the crisis, and get clarity regarding their liabilities under a possible second wave of infections. The insurance industry plans for how to ‘deal with these low-frequency, high-impact events which are typically uninsured [and] uninsurable’, Huw Evans, director general of the Association of British Insurers, told an online event, City and Financial Global City Week Webinar Series: Risk management and the future of insurance on 8 July 2020.
