Commercial analysis: In respect of the pre-contract information obligations under Article 6 of the Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU (CRD), the Court of Justice has ruled that traders are not required to make a telephone number available to consumers in all cases and may provide other means of communication (such as instant messaging, online contact forms or callback facilities) provided such means allow for direct and efficient communication and information about them is provided in a clear and comprehensible manner.
