Planning analysis: The Environmental Impact Assessment (Miscellaneous Amendments Relating to Harbours, Highways and Transport) Regulations 2017, (the Regulations) transpose Directive 2014/52/EU (the 2014 Directive), which amends Directive 2011/92/EU (the EIA Directive) (on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment). The Regulations, which come into force on 5 December 2017, make minor changes to the environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedures for regimes concerned with the consenting of transport-related projects.
