Planning analysis: On 22 July 2020, the Business and Planning Act 2020 (BPA 2020) received Royal Assent, less than a month after it was first introduced to Parliament as a Bill. The Act brings into force a number of measures intended to ensure the planning system in England can continue to operate effectively despite the restrictions necessitated as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
