OPSS and BEIS publish guidance on washing machines and washer dryers

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has published, in conjunction with the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), a notice of publication and consolidated list for designated standards for washing machines and washer dryers relating to ecodesign and energy labelling. This notice is in support of the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information Regulations 2021, SI 2021/745, and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2014 on the energy labelling of household washing machines and washer dryers. This notice confirms that the references to the standards listed in Annex I and Annex II to this notice are published and that Notice 0028/21 and Notice 0038/21 are removed from publication being replaced by the designated standards listed in the Annexes provided. This consolidated list also provides a summary of the published references of standards, outlining the relevant legislation, title of the designated standard, and restrictions among other things.
