MLex: Business interruption insurance coverage for an ‘incident’ or ‘occurrence’ can not stretch to pandemics as they are not one-off events, Hiscox argued in the ongoing High Court test case between insurers and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) over cover for coronavirus (COVID-19) business interruption losses. Hiscox, a defendant alongside seven other insurance companies, also argued that cover did not apply as owners could access their premises, even if they could not use them.
