Law 360, London: The warning comes in a response by UK Finance to an HM Treasury (HMT) review of the financial regulatory system published on 6 January 2020. The trade group said that ‘regulatory change now accounts for increasing operational risk in the financial services system and that institutions have to deal with overlapping requests from regulators—leading to high compliance costs and budgets for innovation and growth being crowded out.
