Law360, New York: On 9 August 2017, the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on 9 August 2017 upheld a Texas federal court’s decision to send to arbitration a Nigerian oil company’s US $1.6bn fraud lawsuit against energy giant Chevron, finding that their arbitration agreement falls under the New York Convention, even if all the parties involved might be US entities.
