MLex: Lawsuits by activists against EU governments are emerging as a fresh source of regulatory risk for businesses as national courts are increasingly persuaded to order policymakers to work harder on climate targets. Germany is the latest example of environment-minded litigants forcing tougher action on greenhouse-gas emissions, and it’s unlikely to be the last, especially with a landmark EU-wide climate law set to enter force soon.
