Public Law analysis: On 29 March 2017, following completion of the process of parliamentary approval and Royal Assent of the European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Act 2017, the UK Prime Minister gave formal notice triggering Article 50 TEU, which commences the two-year process of the UK withdrawing from the EU.
