Philippines notifies WTO of safeguard investigation on ceramic tiles

The Philippines has launched a safeguard investigation on imports of ceramic tiles, notifying the World Trade Organisation’s (WTO) Committee on Safeguards on 10 February 2026 that it initiated the investigation on 5 February 2026. The point of contact is the Bureau of Import Services, and interested parties have five days from publication of the notice to present evidence and views. The investigation seeks to determine whether increased imports are causing or threatening to cause serious injury to the domestic industry.

Chinese table and kitchenware hit with increased dumping tariffs in EU

MLex: Imports of ceramic table and kitchenware from China into the EU will be subject to an increased country-wide dumping duty of 79%, the European Commission said on 6 February 2026. Following a 2024 partial interim review, the regulator concluded that the previous level was no longer sufficient to tackle dumping. Only in October 2025, the commission re-imposed definitive dumping duties of up to 36.1%, following an expiry review.

Chinese sweetcorn in kernels must brace for definitive dumping duties in EU

MLex: Imports of prepared or preserved sweetcorn in kernels from China will be subject to dumping duties ranging between 31% and 54.3% at EU borders, the European Commission said in a formal notice issued 6 February 2026. The measures will be in place for five years.

Commission imposes definitive anti-dumping duties on Chinese steel cylinder imports

The European Commission has imposed definitive anti-dumping duties ranging from 57.7% to 90.3% on high-pressure seamless steel cylinders for compressed or liquefied gas imported from China. The measures follow an investigation that identified unfair trade practices covering cylinders of all diameters and volume capacities. During the investigation period, from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024, the EU market totalled 6.4 million units, of which 4.5 million units were imported from China.
