According to the Civil Procedure Rules and Practice Directions, it is not possible to issue a claim in the County Court by email. See CPR PD 5B, para 2.1 which provides that 'Subject to paragraphs 2.2 and 2.3, a party may e-mail the court and may attach or include one or more specified documents to or in that e-mail'. 'Specified documents' is defined in CPR PD 5B, para 1.3 as meaning 'a document listed in the e-mail guidance (‘the e-mail guidance’) on Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service (‘HMCTS’) website as a document
