Two-step process in obtaining a third party debt order (TPDO)

The first step is to apply for an interim Third Party Debt Order. There will then be a hearing to determine whether the interim order should be made as a Final Third Party Debt order.

How to apply for an interim third party debt order (TPDO)

You will need to issue the application in the court which made the judgment or order you are seeking to enforce unless:

  1. the proceedings have been transferred to a different court, or

  2. you are seeking to enforce a judgment made in the County Court Money Claims Centre. In this case, the application must be issued at the County Court hearing centre serving the address where the judgment debtor resides or carries out business (unless the proceedings have been transferred or sent to another County Court hearing centre) (CPR 72.3(1)(b)(ii) and CPR PD 70,
