Marriage of same-sex couplesThe Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013 (M(SSC)A 2013) received royal assent on 17 July 2013. A large part of M(SSC)A 2013 came into force on 13 March 2014.See Practice Note: Marriage of same-sex couples.
Children and Families Act 2014 (CFA 2014)
The Act received royal assent on 13 March 2014.The Children and Families Act 2014 (Commencement No 1) Order 2014, SI 2014/793 brought into force CFA 2014, s 10 (re mediation information and assessment meetings), CFA 2014, s 13 (re expert evidence and assessments), and CFA 2014, s 17 (re repeal of restrictions on divorce and dissolution where there are children).
Children and Families Act 2014 (Commencement No 2) Order 2014, SI 2014/889 provides that the following sections of CFA 2014 came into force on 22 April 2014:
—CFA 2014, s 9—contact: post—adoption
—CFA 2014, s 12—child arrangements orders
—CFA 2014, s 14—care and supervision and other family proceedings time limits
