Costs management and the Administrative court

The Administrative court produces a court guide to cover judicial review. There is not Administrative Court guide to cover the other work undertaken by the Administrative court.

The Administrative court judicial review guide does not contain any costs management provisions although it does cover costs recovery at the end of the judicial review process.

Costs management and the Commercial Court

The Commercial Court Guide, para D2.3 contains information on costs management. It provides:

'D2.3 The Costs Management section of CPR Part 3 and PD 3E applies to all Admiralty and Commercial Court claims commenced on or after 22 April 2014 except where the claim is stated or valued at £10 million or more or where the court otherwise orders. Save in such cases the parties will be required to file and exchange costs budgets in accordance with rules 3.12 and 3.13. If there is a disagreement between the parties as to the value of the claim, the matter should be discussed between the parties with a view to resolving the point by agreement and otherwise raised with the Court at the first opportunity (which may be the first Case Management Conference); the requirements for filing and exchanging costs budgets will not apply until the matter is resolved.
