Public procurement rules Consultation on proposed changes to the UK public procurement regime.TBCOn 15 December 2020, the government published its Green Paper: Transforming public procurement setting out its proposals to change the UK public procurement regime. The new rules aim to minimise bureaucracy, prioritise value for money and provide smaller businesses with more opportunities to win government contracts. The Green Paper sets out questions for public consultation on the proposed reforms. The consultation runs until 10 March 2021. See: LNB News 15/12/2020 70.
New Homes Ombudsman: Legislation to bring info effect a New Homes Ombudsman‘As soon as possible’A New Homes Ombudsman was announced on 24 February 2020 (see: LNB News 25/02/2020 12), following a consultation held in 2019 (see: LNB News 27/06/2019 87). The draft Building Safety Bill, published by the government on 20 July 2020, sets out the requirement for a new homes ombudsman scheme to be established and requires developers of new build homes to be part of it.
