What does Permitted separate business mean?
Certain legal and lawyer-like services can be provided through businesses which are not regulated by the SRA or any other approved regulator.
Such services include financial services, company secretarial and estate agency businesses. This is subject to the condition that clients are giving clear information about the business and other key protections are in place in accordance with chapter 12 of the SRA Code of Conduct 2011.
