What does NGO mean?

Non-Governmental Organisation: Independent pressure groups often adopting a strong stance for campaigning against nuclear power. Government decisions (policy or otherwise) to pursue nuclear projects are often met with resistance from NGOs and are regularly challenged in the courts by way of Judicial Review. Prominent anti-nuclear NGOs include Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace.
