What does Financial Promotion mean?

Although the term "financial promotion" does not appear in the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA 2000), it is commonly used to describe circumstances in which a person, acting in the course of business, communicates an invitation or an inducement to engage in investment activity (section 21, FSMA 2000).
