Daniel Sejas

Joined Sprecher Grier in 1997, became the firm’s youngest partner at the age of 28, and an equity partner at the age of 30. Following two mergers, and having been with one firm over 20 years, Daniel seized on an opportunity that arose to re-establish Sprecher Grier in 2016 with a number of former colleagues.

Specialises in restructuring and insolvency, undertaking non-contentious, contentious and advisory assignments. Acts primarily for insolvency practitioners, but also acts for litigation funders, creditors, and boards of directors. Has considerable experience of both corporate and individual insolvency, and has been involved in a number of high profile multi outlet retail trading administrations including Jetstar Retail t/a MK1, Linens Direct, Poole Property & Three Cooks. Has a number of reported decisions.

Recognised as an authority on the EU Insolvency Regulation, and the UNCITRAL model on cross-border insolvency.

Lectures widely on insolvency law, and is a regular speaker, having spoken at R3 conferences, the SPI conference on two occasions, and INSOL international in Cape Town, Dubai & Australia.

Recognised as a ‘leader in insolvency’ (Rank 1, national) in (amongst others) Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession.

Speaks fluent Spanish and French, and has a Masters in French Law (University of Bordeaux – France).
