(2)     Payment for time off allowed

The employee is entitled to be paid for any time off he or she is permitted to take (ERA 1996 s 62). But note the small print: the employee is entitled to paid time off during working hours, and that means time off during such hours as he or she is required to be at work by his or her contract of employment (ERA 1996 s 61(2)).
