(5) Excluded groups(a) Groups excluded by the ActThe NMWA 1998 and the 2015 Regulations both exclude certain groups from any entitlement to the national minimum wage. The groups excluded by the Act are as follows: (i) share fishermen and women (NMWA 1998 s 43). Such individuals do not receive a wage but instead share the profits made by their fishing vessel; (ii) 'voluntary workers' employed by a charity, a voluntary organisation, an associated fund-raising body (such as a charity shop) or a statutory body (such as a school or hospital), provided any expenses or benefits
