(2)     Labour Market Enforcement Orders

As part of a drive to increase the number of prosecutions, s 14 of the Immigration Act 2016 created a new type of order, known as a Labour Market Enforcement Order. The aim was to target employers who 'deliberately, persistently and brazenly commit breaches of labour law and fail to take remedial action': see HMRC's enforcement policy, para 4.3.4.
