(3) To indemnifyThe employee is, generally speaking, entitled to an indemnity in respect of costs, claims and expenses incurred in carrying out his duties, though much depends upon the nature of the employment and the scope of the employee's authority. As in other areas, it would of course be preferable (in any employment where this is likely to be an issue) for the employee's right to be identified and to be spelled out in the contract of employment.
