(2)     Information notices

The ICO can issue written notices (information notices) to employers and any person requiring them to provide the ICO with any information it reasonably requires for the purposes of carrying out the ICO's data protection functions (DPA 2018 s 142(1)). The information notice must state why the ICO requires the information and the consequences of failing to comply with the notice (DPA 2018 s 142(2), (4)).
