(1)     Employer obligations generally

In order to lawfully process personal data, employers must comply with the data protection principles (see para [194.91]) and the other specific obligations on employers, as controllers, under the UK data protection regime. These obligations apply in respect of the personal data processed by an employer relating to employees, former employees, agency, casual and contract workers, and also applicants whose personal data is processed by an employer as part of the recruitment process (see AII [10] ff).
