L.     Other categories of workers

The recognised categories of employment are not exhaustive. You may find a worker who looks something like an employee and something like an independent contractor, but who is held to be neither, and who does not fall into any other recognised category. His contract is sui generis. One example is where I contract with you that I will work for another (Construction Industry Training Board v Labour Force Ltd [1970] 3 All ER 220; see also Challinor v Taylor [1972] ICR 129, and Ironmonger v Movefield Ltd
