(5) Right to receive a written statement of reasons for less favourable treatmentPart-time workers can make a request in writing to their employer for a written statement of reasons if they believe that they are being treated less favourably than a comparable full-time worker (SI 2000/1551 reg 6). The employer must respond to the request within 21 days and such statements on the part of the employer will be admissible in any proceedings under the Part-Time Regulations and inferences may be drawn from a refusal to answer or an evasive or equivocal response.
