(3)     Licensing for paid performances, sport or modelling

By virtue of the Children and Young Persons Act 1963 ss 3740 a local authority licence is required before a child can (a) take part in live, broadcast or recorded performances or (b) otherwise take part in a sport or work as a model, where payment in respect of doing so (other than for defraying expenses) is made to him or another person. Provisions relating to such licences are set out and criminal offences stipulated for contravention.
