A gift of chattels is completed by deed of gift or by an intention to give coupled with a delivery of possession1. A gift of a legal interest in land2 must be effected by deed in the case of unregistered land3, by registration in the case of registered land4. A legal chose in action5 is transferred either on the completion of the appropriate statutory formalities6, or when the donor has done everything necessary to render the transfer binding on himself7, or by equitable assignment8. A gift of a subsisting equitable interest must be in writing9. A disposition by settlement
