83. Qualifying expenditure and general conditions as to availability of allowances.

Allowances are available1 if a person carries on a qualifying activity2 and incurs qualifying expenditure3. The general rule is that expenditure is qualifying expenditure if:


    (1)     it is capital expenditure4 on the provision of plant or machinery5 wholly or partly for the purposes of the qualifying activity carried on by the person incurring the expenditure; and


    (2)     the person incurring the expenditure owns the plant or machinery as a result of incurring it6.
