In relation to a settlement, 'ten-year anniversary' means the tenth anniversary of the date on which the settlement commenced1 and subsequent anniversaries at ten yearly intervals2.
However, no date falling before 1 April 1983 may be a ten-year anniversary3. In addition, where:
(1) the first ten-year anniversary of a settlement would fall during the year ending with 31 March 1984;
(2) during that year an event occurs in respect of the settlement which could not have occurred except as a result of some proceedings before a court; and
