There is a body called the Sports Grounds Safety Authority1 which performs certain statutory functions2. The Authority's duties are principally advisory; it may:
(1) provide relevant advice3 to a Minister of the Crown4 (and, if requested to do so by a Minister of the Crown, must provide such advice5);
(2) provide advice relating to safety at sports grounds in England or Wales to local authorities6 or other bodies or persons7; and
(3) provide advice relating to the safety of sports grounds to the government of a territory outside the United Kingdom
