Sporting contracts may provide termination clauses that can be triggered for various breaches by players1. Gross misconduct on the part of the player will amount to a repudiatory breach of a contract of employment2. Behaviour considered to bring the sport into disrepute or criminal behaviour may amount to gross misconduct3. The termination of a player's contract by dismissal is subject to the normal rules relating to unfair dismissal
