54. Requirement for a licence for a child to take part in sport.

Subject to certain exceptions, a child may not take part in a sport where payment in respect of his doing so, other than for defraying expenses, is made to him or another person, except under the authority of a licence1 granted by the local authority for the area in which he resides or, if he does not reside in Great Britain, by the local authority for the area in which the applicant or one of the applicants resides or has his place of business
