In practice contracts entered into by sportsmen are almost invariably written, although there is no legal bar to them being oral agreements2. In so far as player contracts amount to contracts of employment, sportsmen are entitled to written information including salary, disciplinary rules and procedure, holiday entitlement, pension schemes, the existence of collective agreements
