The defendant or a relevant chief officer of police (see Stalking Protection Act 2019 s 14(1)) may apply to a magistrates' court for an order varying, renewing or discharging a stalking protection order: Stalking Protection Act 2019 s 4(1). For the meaning of 'defendant' and 'magistrates' court', and as to stalking protection orders see para 370B. Before making a decision on an application under s 4(1), the court must hear (1) the defendant, and (2) any relevant chief officer of police who wants to be heard: s 4(2).
