The Secretary of State1 may, in the case of any life prisoner2 who has been released on licence under the provisions of the Crime (Sentences) Act 1997 that so provide3, revoke his licence and recall him to prison4. A person recalled to prison in this way5:
(1) may make representations in writing with respect to his recall6; and
(2) on his return to prison, must be informed of the reasons for his recall and of his right to make representations7.
The Secretary of State must refer the case of any life prisoner recalled in this way to the Parole Board
