A person is subject to the notification requirements1 from 1 May 20042 until the end of the notification period3 (that is to say, he is a 'relevant offender'4) if before that date:
(1) he was convicted5 of a listed offence6;
(2) he was found not guilty of such an offence by reason of insanity7;
(3) he was found to be under a disability and to have done the act charged against him in respect of such an offence8; or
(4) in England and Wales or Northern Ireland, he was cautioned in respect of such an offence9
