403. Offences in respect of which violent offender orders may be made.

A violent offender order1 may be made in respect of a person who has been convicted2 of any of the following offences3:

  1.  

    (1)     manslaughter4;

  2.  

    (2)     soliciting murder5;

  3.  

    (3)     wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm6;

  4.  

    (4)     malicious wounding7;

  5.  

    (5)     attempting to commit murder or conspiracy to commit murder8; or

  6.  

    (6)     a corresponding service offence9,

where the court considers that the prohibitions, restrictions and conditions contained in the order are necessary for the purpose of protecting the public
