The Secretary of State1 may remove from prison2 a life prisoner3:
(1) in respect of whom a minimum term order4 has been made5; and
(2) who is liable to removal from the United Kingdom6,
at any time after the prisoner has served the relevant part of the sentence7.
If such a prisoner is removed from prison in this way8:
(a) he is so removed only for the purpose of enabling the Secretary of State to remove him from the United Kingdom under powers conferred by the Immigration Act 1971
