Until a day to be appointed1, where a court2 passes a sentence of detention in a young offender institution3 in the case of an offender who is subject to a detention and training order4, the sentence takes effect as follows:
(1) if the offender has been released by virtue of the provision made for the release of such offenders5, at the beginning of the day on which it is passed6; and
(2) if not, either as mentioned in head (1) above or, if the court so orders, at the time when the offender would otherwise be released by virtue
