An 'enhanced criminal record certificate' is a certificate1 which gives the prescribed details of every relevant matter2 relating to the applicant which is recorded in central records3 and specified additional information where applicable4 or states that there is no such matter or information5.
An enhanced criminal record certificate must also include such suitability information relating to children and vulnerable adults as may be prescribed6. 'Suitability information relating to children'7 is:
(1) whether the applicant is barred8 from regulated activity9 relating to children10;
(2) whether the applicant is subject to a direction11 prohibiting him from participation in school management12.
