A football banning order1 has effect2 for a period beginning with the day on which the order is made3, and that period must not be longer than the maximum or shorter than the minimum4. Where the order was made on conviction5 in addition to a sentence of imprisonment6 taking immediate effect, the maximum is ten years and the minimum is six years7; in any other case where an order is made on conviction the maximum is five years and the minimum is three years8.
