Subject to a number of specified exceptions1 any person who is engaged in the discharge of functions conferred on DBS2 commits an offence3 if he discloses information which has been obtained by him in connection with those functions and which relates to a particular person unless he discloses the information, in the course of his duties:
(1) to another person engaged in the discharge of those functions4;
(2) to the chief officer of a police force5 in connection with a request6 to provide information to DBS7; or
(3) to an applicant8 who is entitled9 to the information disclosed to
