The court by or before which a person is convicted of a specified animal cruelty offence1 may2 order the destruction of an animal in relation to which the offence was committed where it is appropriate to do so in the interests of the animal3. Where the offence involved fighting4, the court may order destruction of the animal on grounds other than it being in that animal's interests
