282. 'Loss' and 'damage'.

Where a compensation order is contemplated1, the 'loss' is the loss which the victim has actually suffered2; and this may include a sum by way of interest3. If property is stolen and recovered, the court is not entitled thereby to make a compensation order unless the victim can show a loss that has arisen from his having been without the property for a period of time4. 'General inconvenience' is not loss
